And God created Man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27.

How should I govern myself as a Christian who is dating?

When you became born again, that is, accepted Christ as your savior, your whole life changed. Your mind and spirit was renewed; and the old you died, and the new you were born. It was easy for you to go about your life and do whatever you pleased, and do whatever pleased you. But now things have changed, and you are living a new life, a life that’s in Christ. Everything about our lives changes when we make that decision to live for Christ, our appearance, speech, and behavior will change. The biggest change that comes will be in how we date. We’ll find that we can no longer date in the manner in which we use to, and that is, operating as if we were free agents; if it felt good, look good, or thought to be good, we did it. Now that we are born again children of God, we have what I like to call, guidelines to live by. Some will refer to these guidelines as issues in Christian dating, because what we once use to do we can no longer do it nor afford to do it. Let’s look at some more issues in Christian dating.

Who are we permitted to date?

Being that you are a Christian, God insist on you dating a man or woman who is also a Christian. There are reasons for this, and all of it is in your best interest. This is what the word of God says about this, 1 Corinthians 10:21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot eat at the table of the Lord and at the table of demons. Ephesians 5:11 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness, but rather expose them. Ephesians 5:12 for it is disgraceful even to mention the vices practiced in secret by them. You cannot be partners with unbelievers, and you cannot join yourself to them in a relationship. The word of God states in -- William's New Testament

>2 Corinthians 6:14   Stop forming intimate and inconsistent<g> relations with unbelievers.  What partnership can right-doing have with law breaking, or how can light participate with darkness?

>2 Corinthians 6:15 what harmony exists between Christ and Belial, or what is common between a believer and an unbeliever?

>2 Corinthians 6:16 and what agreement can a temple of God make with idols?  For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said: "I will live in them and walk in them, and I will be their God and they will be my people."<h>

Is it ok to take my date to a club?

Come out of company with them, and separate from them,' the Lord has said, `And stop touching what is unclean; then I will welcome you, 2 Corinthians 6:17.

Going to night clubs is something no Christian couple should be doing. There should be a distinction between Christians and non-Christians. As a Christian you are filled with the holy spirit of God, or you should be filled if you are not. It is exactly like the scripture says above, “Come out of company with them, and separate from them,' the Lord has said, `and stop touching what is unclean; then I will welcome you.” Nightclubs are filled with all kinds of different spirits, and when you frequent them, you are putting yourself at risk. Some of you who use to go to nightclubs can remember after visiting those clubs you started doing things you never did before? And you began saying to yourself, “ I don’t know where I picked up this habit from.” Chances are, you picked up an unclean spirit at one of those clubs you were visiting. I know this because, this has happened to me before. I started doing things, and desiring to do things that I had never thought about doing before. If you are thinking about going to a club, don’t, it is never worth the risk.

Is it ok for a Christian to date members of the same sex?

Two people of the same sex cannot date, this is absolutely forbidden by God, and is an abomination to him. Two men cannot date one another, nor can two females, and it does not matter if you are Christian or non- Christian, this type of behavior is unacceptable to God. Surely you remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, and how God dealt with their sin. Well, let me give you the version of that story; two angels came to Sodom at evening. Lot sat in the gate of Sodom and saw them, and rose up to meet them. He bowed himself with his face to the earth

and said, Behold now, my lords, turn aside, come into your servant's house, and stay all night, and wash your feet, and ye can get up early, and go on your way. And they said, no, but we will abide in the street all night.

And they turned in unto him, and entered into his house. And he made them a feast, and did bake bread, and they did eat.

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter.

And they called out to Lot, and asked, Where are the men that came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

Lot went out to them, and shut the door after him.

And he said, I beg you, my brethren, do not so wickedly.

Look, I have two daughters that have not known man, Let me, I beg you, bring them out to you, and you do with them as you please. But they said, Stand back.. or we will do worse with you, than with them..  But the angels pulled Lot back into the house with them, and shut to the door.

And the angels caused the men that were at the door to go blind, both small and great. And the angels told Lot, take your family out of this city, for God has sent us here to destroy it. We will destroy this place, because the cry of sin before Jehovah is great. Run to the mountain, or you may be destroyed. Then Jehovah sent upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovah out of heaven.

And God destroyed those cities, and all the Plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. Gen. 19:1-25. The destruction of these cities is to be used as an example for us. God will not tolerate sin of any nature.
