GOD'S HOMEWORK
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6:33
King James Version
I was talking to someone on the phone yesterday afternoon when all of a sudden I heard her say, "Are you reading your Bible? You know, I don’t mind if you read it, but I want you to do your homework first". My first reaction was shock, and then anger, and then my heart broke as I realized that she just hurt the Heart of my Best Friend, Jesus.
The boy who was reading the Bible has been through severe emotional distress all of his life by the fighting between his parents and the things that happen in his home. He was reaching out for the only Comfort that he knew, and his mother said to stop reading your Bible.
I don’t want to be that mother when she stands before God on the Judgment Day. This verse says to seek God and His Righteousness first. When I was in college, before I took any test I always prayed and asked God to help me.
Parents, please don’t stop your children from reading the Bible. You should be more concerned about that than about their homework. Yes, homework is important and it needs to be done, but they can’t take it with them for Eternity.
Are you seeking God? Are you putting Him first in everything that you think, say, or do? We need to put Him first and then everything else will work out for our good.

GOD'S DIET
"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."
Matthew 5: 6
King James Bible
My sister has told me several times that I need to get more exercise so that I will lose weight and then my arthritis won’t hurt so bad. She is right because I am overweight and I would feel better. I have tried several times to lose weight but always end up putting it back on by the things I eat.
Many people have tried to give me advice, but it doesn’t help. When someone is trying to lose weight, we need to pray for that person. Prayer is the only thing that will help when we face obstacles in our life.
We need to have such a hunger and thirst for God’s Word that we will forget about how hungry we think we are physically. I have found that when I want to eat something that if I will open the Bible and feed on His Word, my craving for food goes away.
Are you hungry for God’s Word? Do you want to become fat spiritually? May God help all of us to absorb God’s Calories into our heart so that we may be able to encourage and help people who are hurting, lonely, and desperate.

ANOTHER DAY
"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 118: 24
King James Version
Every morning when we wake up, we need to realize that God has given us another day to serve Him. We can choose to be happy and spread His Love, or we can choose to be gloomy and complain about our life.
We may be facing financial difficulties, health issues, and family problems, but we can still rejoice because Jesus Loves us. There is a song that says, "Count Your Blessings". We need to count our blessings instead of thinking about our problems.
Many times when I go to bed at night, I say thank You, Jesus, that I can lift my legs up on the bed, that I can turn over, that I can stretch. I tell Him thank You for my pillow, my bedspread, my sheets, my clock, my flashlight, and anything else that I remember.
We take all these things for granted, and may God have mercy on our souls, we take Jesus for granted. We assume that He is going to be there whenever we call on Him. We don’t care that when we ignore Him, it breaks His Heart.
You have a choice to make when you wake up in the morning. Are you going to serve Jesus, or are you going to complain because you don’t have everything that you want?
JESUS IS THE ANSWER
Many times in our life we face trials and heartaches that to us seem almost impossible to bear. Jesus promised us that He would never leave or forsake us. No matter what heartache we have and no matter what our situation, the King of Kings is with us to Comfort, Encourage, and Help us.
A very dear Pastor friend of mine has said many times in his sermons, "If satan is not attacking you all the time, then you need to do a checkup with God". When we are not serving God like we should, when we are not bragging on Jesus, then satan doesn't have to bother with us because we are not a threat to him.
Some people have tried drugs, alcohol, adultery, and all other things which bring disgrace on the Name of Jesus trying to escape from the heartaches which we face. There is no other way to be at peace in your heart except through the Blood of Jesus and the Love He gives you.
I urge you to let Jesus be your Answer in life. He has given all to you, His very life. He can do no more for you. It is up to you to open your heart to Him and then watch while all your problems and heartaches become bearable through the Compassion of Jesus.

"A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!"
Proverbs 15: 23
King James Version
Have you ever been in the midst of heartache and you didn’t think you could bear it anymore? Have you been so discouraged that you were unable to even pray? All of us have experienced times like these and then someone would say something kind to us and our burdens felt a little lighter.
Jesus said that we should encourage people and tell them that He Loves them. When someone tells me that Jesus Loves me, my heart is encouraged. Have you told anyone lately that Jesus loves him or her? Have you said a kind word to someone lately?
Not only are we to say good words to each other, we are to do things that will prove that Jesus Loves them. We can talk all day about the Love of Jesus, but if we don’t show by our actions the Love of Jesus, then our words will be in vain.
When is the last time you hugged your family and friends? Remember when you are hugging someone, you are hugging Jesus. Have you seen someone who was in despair and told him or her that it will be okay, Jesus understands?
Let’s reach out to others with our words and our actions and spread the Love of Jesus to those who are hurting and lonely and desperately need a kind word and a warm hug.
